Programs

How do we provide enrichment? We sustain several enrichment programs, each designed to bring a healthy form of enrichment to the animals during their time at the shelter. Being in a kennel all day is no fun, so Friends of GCAS gives the dogs healthy, safe ways to combat stress and be a normal dog while waiting for their families to take them home.

In-Kennel Enrichment

Nylabones and Kongs to provide safe enrichment in their kennels

Dehydrated chicken provides a safe, tasty and longer lasting treat! The shelter dogs love it!

Bully Stick Days!

Nylabone Drive

We continue to provide Nylabones on a regular basis for all dogs in the shelters care. These Nylabones provide in-kennel enrichment to the dogs at GCAS. Chewing is a natural stress reliever, and these bones provide a safe outlet for the dogs to achieve this. Thank you for your support!

Four Paws Off the Floor

Scent enrichment & play yard toys

Adds another layer both in-kennel via essential oils, and outside with herbs and flowers in each play yard. Additionally we have toy drives and donations that allow us to provide toys in all play yards from tennis balls to rope toys and stuffies.

Cat Enrichment

We provide a variety of small toys, hand sewn catnip pouches and treats.

Small Animal Enrichment

Chew toys and foraging for treats is a fun way to help our small friends stay active.
